AdDrain ("the app", "we", "our") is an Android application that helps you identify which installed apps are likely increasing your battery use because of advertising SDKs. This policy explains what data the app accesses, what it does with it, and what choices you have.
The short version: AdDrain scans your device entirely on-device. It does not have user accounts and does not upload your list of installed apps or scan results anywhere. AdDrain is supported by ads served through Google AdMob, which is the only third-party data sharing described in this policy beyond optional analytics. The only data that ever leaves your device is (a) information AdMob needs to serve ads, and (b) optional, anonymous usage analytics, which you can decline on first launch or turn off at any time in Settings.
To generate your scan results, AdDrain reads the following information locally, using standard Android system APIs. None of this is transmitted anywhere:

Separately, if you allow analytics and crash reporting (see Section 3), the app may also send anonymous crash diagnostics if it crashes. This is unrelated to your scan data and never includes your installed app list or scan results.

AdDrain does not request or use the BATTERY_STATS
permission, which is reserved for the operating system and unavailable to
third-party apps.
AdDrain uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both provided by Google) to understand anonymous, aggregated usage of the app and to diagnose crashes — for example, how often the app is opened, which screens are used, and what caused a crash if one occurs. This helps us improve the app's stability and features.
When enabled, this collection may include:
Analytics and crash reporting never receive your scan results, your list of installed apps, or which advertising SDKs were detected on your device. That data stays local and is never included in any analytics or crash event, and we never call APIs that would attach an identifying user ID to this data.
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are operated by Google. You can review Google's own privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
AdDrain displays ads served by Google AdMob to support free use of the app. AdMob is a third-party advertising service operated by Google, separate from the on-device scanning described in Section 1. Your scan results, installed-app list, and detected ad-SDK data are never shared with AdMob or any advertiser.
To select and serve ads, AdMob (and the ad networks it works with) may collect and process, on your device, information such as:
Where required (for example, under GDPR in the EEA/UK), AdDrain shows a consent message before loading personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads or withdraw consent at any time from that same prompt or from Settings. AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's own policies; you can review them at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and policies.google.com/privacy.
Scan results and settings are stored locally on your device using Android's standard app storage (DataStore) and are removed automatically if you uninstall the app. Analytics data (if enabled) is retained by Firebase according to Google's standard Firebase Analytics retention settings.
AdDrain is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad requests are configured to signal non-child-directed treatment to AdMob accordingly.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Play Store listing.
